Lower Holloway is a massive district in north London, both in terms of geographical area and population. The area of Lower Holloway stretches from the South of Holloway Road to the Central side of Holloway, Nags Head. It is wholly in the N7 postal district. Like most of Islington, gentrification in Holloway is well under way. While the housing stock can be a little shabby the district has left behind its identity as a site of inner city decay.
There are many luxury development projects taking place over a large area between the Arsenal stadium development and Caledonian Road. Near to Holloway Road tube station is the North Campus of London Metropolitan University. Another prominent feature in Holloway is the Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal F.C. The area is home to many artists and people who work in the media, including many journalists, writers and professionals working in film and television. It is also known as a hotspot for many of London's graffiti artists.
