Living in Finsbury Park area information and guide

Finsbury Park area overview

Finsbury Park used to be considered really rough and nasty and it's struggling to shake off this reputation despite having improved quite dramatically. The housing is a fairly typical mix of victorian terraces and council blocks. The pubs and attractions (specifically some of the cinemas and bowling alleys) have a nice retro-feel to them. The Park itself is lovely and plays host to pretty substantial music gigs.

If you're a football fan this is deep Arsenal territory so Tottenham fans should steer clear. Rents in the area are relatively high, mostly because it's so easy to get to the centre from the Piccadilly line station. The area is also particularly well-served by busses which take you into the centre in no time avoiding some of the big commuter roads.
