Carshalton is a suburban part of in south London. It's one of the many areas of outer London which was incorporated into London in 1965. It lies on the valley of the River Wandle (which runs into the Thames at Wandsworth), and one of its sources is Carshalton Ponds in the centre of the village. Carshalton itself comprises of a number of neighbourhoods, with the main focal point being the beautiful Carshalton Village. The area has a proud ecological heritage and is home to the Sutton Ecology Centre, and every year an environmental fair is held in Carshalton Park to the south of the village.
